Dr. P. C. Thomas Foundation Extends Support to Sanitary Workers of Ooty Municipality and Surrounding Rural Areas
The Dr. P. C. Thomas Foundation, in keeping with its vision of community welfare and social responsibility, has undertaken a meaningful initiative to support the health workers serving in Ooty Municipality and adjoining rural areas. Recognizing the selfless service rendered by these frontline workers, the Foundation has sponsored high‑quality raincoats and protective hand gloves for their use. The total cost of this project is Rs. 44,950/-
With Ooty and the Nilgiris experiencing frequent rains and cold climatic conditions, sanitary workers often face considerable hardship in performing their duties. The provision of raincoats and gloves will not only protect them from adverse weather but also help safeguard their health, comfort, and safety as they carry out their essential responsibilities.
This gesture reflects the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to extend support to marginalized and often overlooked sections of society. It also serves as a token of appreciation for the silent, tireless service rendered by these workers whose contributions are vital to maintaining the well‑being of the community.
The raincoats and hand gloves were formally handed over by Dr. Ashok Prasad and Dr. Udita Prasad, Trustees of the Dr. P. C. Thomas Foundation, to Mr. Ganesan, Municipal Commissioner, in the presence of Dr. S. Shibi, Municipal Health Officer, and Ms. Vairam, Sanitary Inspector on 17th September 2025.
